Summer Camps

Wilmette Hockey is excited to offer skill-specific summer camps geared towards competitive travel players. Each camp will run for 4 days (Monday to Thursday) with one hour per day of on-ice instruction. Camps will be led by Hockey Director, Tim Benz, assisted by our travel coaches.


These camps are designed for travel level hockey players from Mites to Bantams.

Two sessions of each camp will be offered for Mites/Squirts and PeeWees/Bantams.

Players will be further groups by skill level if the situation calls for it.


Each camp will be 4 days, Monday through Thursday, with one hour per day of on-ice instruction. Camp specifics (i.e., dates, times) can be found in the sidebar to the right.

Mites and Squirts will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

PeeWees and Bantams will be held from 6:40 p.m. to 7:40 p.m.


Each camp is $125 for the 4 day camp.


Camps are held at Centennial Ice Rink in Wilmette.

Defense Camp

June 14, 2021 to June 17, 2021

This camp will work on the fundamentals of being a defenseman.  Players will work on playing the body, gap control, retrievals, point shooting and learning how to use the markings on the ice for positioning.  

Stickhandling Camp

June 21, 2021 to June 24, 2021

This camp will start with the basics of stickhandling and move into more complex stickhandling. Players will also be taught situation moves as well and puck protection.

Battle Camp

July 12, 2021 to June 15, 2021

Players will learn how properly angle, use body contact, steal pucks from an opponent in open ice and along the boards, and how to properly protect a puck using their body. Small areas games will be played all week as well.

Shooting Camp

July 19, 2021 to July 22, 2021

Players will work on weight transfer, good shooting form, following through on a shot, wrist shots, backhand shots, slap shots (peewees and bantams), snap shots (peewees and bantams) and situational / positional shooting.

Power Skating Camp

July 26, 2021 to July 29, 2021

Players will work on inside and outside edges, proper skating stride, using crossovers to gain speed, backward skating, transitions and footwork. Pucks and shooting will be incorporated as well.
