About Wilmette Hockey

The Wilmette Hockey Association (WHA) is a non-profit, volunteer run hockey organization dedicated to providing opportunities for area youth and young adults to learn and play the sport of hockey. Our Association works to promote a safe, fun, positive, and inclusive environment for players of all backgrounds that maximizes participation and improves players' skills while developing sportsmanship, teamwork and self-confidence.

We offer programs for players ages 4 years through high school. In partnership with the Wilmette Park District (WPD), we support players from their first strides on the ice to playing competitive Tier II hockey, including:

  • Skating skill development with the WPD’s Learn to Skate Program and Hockey Skill Development Classes.
  • Team hockey skill development with WHA’s Mite House and Mite Travel programs.
  • House/Travel teams for Squirt, PeeWee, Bantam and Midget levels.
  • Girls Travel teams at the U10 level (Mite/Squirt).
  • A program for youth with special needs to experience hockey.

Since 1954, thousands of players have moved through the programs created and sponsored by the WHA. Hundreds of coaches have invested in player development to help them compete at their highest potential. Today, the WHA and its volunteers proudly serve more than 400 players and their families each season.
