Our Girls Travel program fields teams from the U8 to U16 levels. At the U10 level, the program is supplemental to our Mite Travel or Squirt Travel programs and girls at this level are strongly encouraged to register for an appropriate co-ed team as well. At the U12 level and above, it is a full program with a dedicated and competitive practice and game schedule.
Girls teams will be fielded at the U10, U12, and U14 levels this season.
Conditioning clinics and tryouts beginning in mid-August with team practices starting in the beginning of September. The season will run through March.
Practices are held at Centennial Ice Rink in Wilmette or North Shore Ice Arena in Northbrook. Home games are at Centennial and North Shore Ice Arena, with away games in surrounding communities.
The U10 program will have one practice per week. The U12, U14 and U16 teams will have the same practice schedule as our Youth Travel teams. This includes two team practices per week, a skills session each week, and an off-ice conditioning or classroom session each week.
The U10 team will generally play one game per week as part of the U10 NIHL girls division. The U12, U14, and U16 teams will play a full regular game schedule and compete in the NIHL girls division
All girls teams will wear the Wilmette Jr. Trevians game uniforms. New players will purchase their set of home/away jerseys and socks at the start of the season. Details will be provided.
Goalies in the girls travel program will participate in weekly goalie clinics along with all our other goalies on travel teams.
Goalies at the U12 and above levels will also receive goalie instruction every other week as part of a team practice or game evaluation session.
Your team manager maintains a team fund to cover tournament expenses for the team, coach and any other additional expenses the team manager/coach may anticipate. At the start of the season, each family will be asked for a deposit to get that account started. The amount varies by team, but is typically $150-$400.
